On this earth, there are 36 righteous souls kept on this world to keep humanity from destroying itself. Absorbing the pain and darkness of the world into themselves, they seek to absolve the fallen among men, exorcise the dark creatures that seep into them, and return the cruelty of mankind to them as the bright beacon of kind free will.
Brennan is among the 36 Righteous, known to some religions as the Tzadikim Nistarim, who lives unnoticed among us to perform selflessly in the face of Human and Demonic evil alike. Homeless, without any family or roots left, he travels unbidden from gutter to gutter. Sometimes, his nights are taken up with the ripping the violent demons of addiction from the dregs of the inner city. Other times, he simply must sit unseen in a crowd, taking into himself a bit of the stress, pain, fear, and rage of every passerby. Knowing only the revulsion and wariness of the general populace, alone in the world of concrete and steel, he bears this burden to be filtered through his tainted soul. Doing so, he returns it to the ignorant many as the pervasive love of the Light and the Divine.
Well, got a little carried away there, I suppose. I was just idly passing by 's and 's "Angels and Demons" contest, when I noticed the side of Light was looking a little ... outgunned. That said, I'll skip the ballyhoo and go on to the stats needed to enter Brennan into the fray.
Description: Brennan is, on the surface, an old homeless man in a scavenged black bathrobe and stained jeans with the hems walked off. He is laconic to a fault, but even at his most grim there is a pervasive sense of a smile somewhere on his face. No matter where he is, what he is doing, or what is done to him, he is doing good for this world. Usually, he wanders, slumped over and seemingly lost in the folds of his robe. In a fight, however, he can draw himself up to his full height and show just how lean and dangerous he is.
Attacks: Spiritually, Brennan's primary attack is to psychically a spirit's energy into himself, giving the feeling of oneself being ripped from their own body. For many demons, this diminishes their power and strength, while for others, it simply hurts to an astonishing degree. Physically, he has had to live most of his life in streets most sane people would never tread. He has had his share of attempted stickups and beatings by addicts and lunatics. While taking abuse of any kind is part of his life, there are some men and demons that are not sated (or are indeed enraged further) by their anger returning to them as positive energy. For these cases, Brennan can eclipse the violence of any attacker he's had, making use of broken bottles, iron pipes, or even the coldly hardened fists he always has at his command.
Defenses: A large percent of Brennan's time is in a receptive state, taking in the abuse and scorn of the world around him to internalize and transform into Light. Given enough time and negativity, he can make the ambient area around the combat so full of such Light as to be utterly unbearable to his demon attackers, or to infuse them with such positivity as to make them simply give up and go away. He does not have many defenses, because reprieve from attack would make him less effective as a Tzadikim Nistarim.
Strengths: Physically very powerful, and can psychically and physically take almost inhuman levels of pain from his attacker by nature of his duty. He turns this pain against them, or in extreme cases can forcefully remove much of the hate from his attacker...
Weaknesses: However, sometimes this Darkness is too much for even Brennan to take on, and for a short period could make him as bloodthirsty and unstoppable as his opponent. Also, the tactic of simply taking pain and abuse doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt. He can only sustain it for so long.
An important note: At any given moment on Earth there must be 36 Tzadikim Nistarim. No more, no less. If Brennan finds that his own death cannot be prevented, he must immediately find another to replace him among the ranks of the 36 Righteous Souls. This could be anyone, of any alignment, within his sight at the time of Death.
Even if they don't let me in, I'm thrilled. I've never actually designed anyone that remotely resembled a superhero, and he's going to written into somuch that I do now. Busy, busy, busy...
Thanks! I actually wish I'd read over the dark side a bit more before writing. If your character and mine go head to head, I think I'll be in trouble. She likes pain and hates old people? Aw, crap
Thanks! I was wondering if you running the contest made it a conflict of interest to fave an entry, but when I looked you had most of the others faved too. Whew. Either way, thanks for letting my weirdo in to play with the other kids. Great time drawing him.

As someone who has always prided herself on giving credit where it is due, it really boils my blood to see so many people on DA who really don't seem to give a damn about copyright infringements. So, I have written a sort of FAQ's of different issues I have come across. I know that a bunch of articles have been written about this subject, but I feel that I should do all that I can to help.
