I was going to quote my favorite line from "A Midsummer Night's Dream", but that would mean Saul had something in common with a character named Mustardseed, and that's just silly.
Saul and Ayan, from "After One", being pensively recalcitrant and subconciously tortured, respectively.
Actually, it's charcoal and oil paint. I've been fussing with the combination, since I love smooth, saturated gradients and layering, and oil paint is all about that.
Naturally, you're the first to comment. Thanks so much for being a ...well, I can't say "fan", but you're enthusiasm is always a breath of fresh air. Thank you so much.
It looks really, really good. I thought it was watercolour due to yon texture shining through, but I can see that I was mainly being unobservant. It's too early over here.
You don't need to be told this looks incredible. The folds, the lighting, the expressions, the choice of colors here and there, how you did the background, the "reality" of it. Something close to home about this drawing, and it's not just the traditional style it was done in (or looks like it was done in) Wonderful work.
The coloring is very good on this one, especially the woman and his shirt looks very realistic. Itīs rare to see something colored like this on DA, a plus for that.

We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
